Makassar which is famed for its distinctive culinary, epe banana and coto has a broad range of beautiful attractions for tourist. Located on the coast of Sulawesi Island, the city is popular with Losarinya Beach. Nevertheless,Makassar has a wide array of attractions, from the coast to the highlands.

1. Taka Bonerate Marine Park

This tourist place is a paradise for sailors and you who enjoy snorkeling. When diving, you can swim with hundreds of species of turtles, fish and turtles. The beauty of the coral reefs also makes you more comfortable diving here.

In addition, there are also green gardens, blue valleys and Japanese tradition bunkers.

3. TanjungBira

The beauty of this tourist place isn’t just known by domestic tourists, but in addition international tourists. They usually swim, sunbathe, snorkel or simply sit enjoying the sunrise and sunset view. Should you forget to bring snorkeling gear, you can rent it for IDR 30,000. There are also motorbikes leased IDR 65,000 every day to get around this beach region.

The facilities here are quite complete, ranging from accommodation, restaurants and bathrooms to cleaning up after swimming. Entrance ticket to TanjungBira is IDR 5,000/person.

4. Lake Tempe

Above the lake, there are many floating homes owned by local artisans with nets used to capture fish. At this tourist place, you can fish or move around with a fishing boat.

Each August 23, here is a yearly ritual to purify the lake called MacceraTappareng. The head of the sailors will slaughter a cow, then there’ll be several cultural and arts performances and various competitions.

5. SombaOpu Road

Not far from Losari Beach and Fort Rotterdam, there’s a bustling JalanSombaOpu that is used as a place to market and look for typical memorabilia from Makassar, ranging from handicrafts, special meals to wasp-stamp oil.
Wasp cap oil is a popular present that is hunted by many tourists. Just for hints if buying this oil, oil with a white bottle cap has a milder impact when touching the skin. It’s since the petroleum content is available, although the rub oil with a red bottle cap has a warmth effect beneath the white lid.
